New research links waist circumference and liver cancer

New research from the USA published in the journal Cancer Research, found that the risk of getting liver cancer rises by around 8% for every 5cm increase in waist circumference. The research also found that an elevated BMI and having Type 2 diabetes also increased the risk of developing the disease. The British Liver Trust commenting on the study said that liver disease should be considered when patients are overweight to improve early diagnosis and treatment.
