Call the helpline
The British Liver Trust Helpline is a lifeline for anyone affected by a liver condition. Call 0800 652 7330 between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) or email helpline@britishlivertrust.org.uk (emails can be sent at any time and are answered during helpline hours).
Helpline calls are subject to monitoring by our Liver Nurse Manager and on occasion calls will be recorded. We do this to train staff and to monitor and evaluate the service.
Demand for the nurse-led helpline service is currently very high and there are only ever 2/3 nurses working covering the UK. Please do keep trying or alternatively, email helpline@britishlivertrust.org.uk
Please be aware that the helpline is not an emergency number and cannot give medical advice. If you have a specific medical enquiry please call 111.
The information provided by our helpline is not a substitute for professional care and should not be used for diagnosing or treating a health problem or disease. If you have worrying symptoms or you feel unwell you should consult your doctor.
The helpline provides an information service only and is unable to access emergency care or talk to health professionals directly on any enquirer’s behalf.
