International NASH Day
Obesity is the second biggest cause of liver disease and this is why we support and promote International NASH Day. The day brings together healthcare professionals scientists, patients and community advocates across more than twenty cities around the world for a day of action against NASH, which is a metabolic disease characterized by the accumulation of fat in the liver.

Dry January
With alcohol being the main cause of liver disease, we are an official charity partner of the Dry January campaign, which aims to get us all re-thinking our relationship with alcohol.
Dry January does work – almost two thirds of people who take part are drinking less 6 months later. Ultimately, reducing alcohol consumption improves liver health.

World Hepatitis Day
World Hepatitis Day is about raising awareness of Viral Hepatitis and the 400 million people that are living with Hepatitis B or C in the world today.
Every year 1.4 million people die from viral hepatitis and yet all of these deaths could be prevented.

The Trust actively promotes the ‘Get the Flu Jab’ campaign. Catching flu doesn’t just mean a couple of days in bed – it can be very serious if you have an underlying health condition.

The British Liver Trust proudly supports organ donation awareness and the annual Organ Donation Week.
Right now across the UK, there are thousands of people in need of an organ transplant.
On average three people die every day in need of an organ transplant because there just aren’t enough organ donors.
