How individuals and clubs can get involved in Love Your Liver

At the British Liver Trust raising awareness of the preventable causes of liver disease is a huge part of our work. 90% of liver disease can be avoided and our lifestyle choices such as our diet, exercise regime and how often we drink can affect our liver health.

We know that the pandemic has created new pressures on all of us in many different ways and these pressures can sometimes lead to unhealthy lifestyle choices.

If you're part of a club that is still meeting virtually, or perhaps you're an individual looking to raise awareness, sharing our Love Your Liver campaign would be a great way to raise awareness of liver health:

  • Host a virtual talk about liver health
  • Share our lifestyle screener with friends, family, or with members of your community group
  • Raise funds with a virtual event or challenge as a fun way of raising awareness
  • Donate to support our Love Your Liver campaign today

We can provide you with advice, support and materials to support you raising awareness (virtually) within your community.

We hope to be back out on the road soon to host Love Your Liver events across the country.

See our events page for full details of our Love Your Liver community liver health events. We will announce new dates and locations on a rolling basis; register for updates to be kept in touch.

Host a virtual coffee morning

Research shows moderate coffee drinking could reduce the chances of developing preventable liver damage.

Get involved and support our Love Your Liver campaign by holding a virtual Perk up your Liver! Coffee Break to raise awareness and funds for the charity. Recent research suggests that having a daily coffee may actually be good for your liver!

By holding Perk up your Liver! events up and down the country, we will make more people aware of liver disease and the risk factors, as well as raising vital funds for research and care.

Awareness event

When things are back to normal, why not hold an awareness-raising event? This can be specifically regarding liver health or as part of wider health information and awareness focus.

The British Liver Trust can provide materials, and also promote your event through our website and social media communications.

There is no charge for this assistance but we ask that a British Liver Trust collection box is present at the event for voluntary donations.
