British Liver Trust takes part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022

Posted on: 29th November 2022

The British Liver Trust is once again taking part in the UK’s biggest match funding campaign, the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2022.

The Christmas Challenge launches at midday on Tuesday 29th November and runs for just seven days, until midday Tuesday 6th December. For one week only, participating charities will see supporters’ donations matched, doubling the impact of their gifts.

We are aiming to raise a total of £22,500 during the week and if we can achieve this, the funds will be doubled to £45,000. These funds will help us purchase a new mobile Love Your Liver unit which will allow us to see more people, and engage with senior health contacts to improve awareness, diagnosis and treatment, which will ultimately save lives.

Chief Executive of the British Liver Trust, Pamela Healy OBE, emphasises the invaluable impact of the Big Give, “We’re thrilled to be part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022. This year, more than ever, the campaign is a brilliant opportunity for supporters to make their donations go further and for us to reach and support even more people affected by liver disease and liver cancer.”

Over 2,400 people have attended our roadshows this year.

Roger is one of many who has benefitted. He says “I feel it is entirely thanks to this charity & this event that I am now well & healthy. If it wasn’t for the Love Your Liver roadshow, I would most likely have ended up with liver failure & may have needed a transplant, as my symptoms had not been picked up or managed effectively by my GP.’’

If you’d like to help us support more people like Roger, please consider a gift during Big Give week, doubling your donation and your impact. Thank you.
