We’re taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2025

Posted on: 25th November 2025

The British Liver Trust and Children’s Liver Disease Foundation are once again taking part in the UK’s biggest match funding campaign, the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2025.

The Christmas Challenge launches at midday on Tuesday 2nd December and runs for just seven days, until midday Tuesday 9th December. For one week only, participating charities will see supporters’ donations matched, doubling the impact of their gifts.

Our fundraising target this year is a wonderful £75,000, which will be doubled to £150,000, if we can reach that target!

This year, our campaign is focused on raising awareness of the rarer and less well-known liver conditions, which often experience late diagnosis due to a lack of awareness.

This includes childhood liver disease which is especially complex. There are many types, often with no known cause. There is no cure, only lifelong care, and many children will go on to need a liver transplant at some stage. Patients and families tell us they can feel isolated and struggle to get the support and specialist care they need.

Your gift will help us raise awareness of the signs and symptoms to support earlier detection, educate healthcare professionals, and ensure patients and families have access to clear, trusted resources. It will also help us to provide vital support to people affected by liver disease, including dedicated support for children, young people and their families, face-to-face and online support groups for adults, our free nurse-led helpline, and information services.

The opportunity to see your gift doubled only happens once a year, so we hope you will join in, and see your impact doubled during Big Give week. Thank you.
