If you or a loved one is living with decompensated cirrhosis, your experience matters.
The British Liver Trust is supporting researchers at University College London (UCL) who are asking patients to share their views through a survey to better understand how digital systems could be used to improve the care and support available for people with cirrhosis.
Why take part?
Living with decompensated cirrhosis can be incredibly challenging. Many people face repeated hospital admissions due to complications such as fluid build-up, confusion, or infection, and research has shown shown that around four in ten patients are readmitted to hospital within just a month of being discharged. Understandably, this can leave patients and families feeling anxious and uncertain about what might happen next.
New technology may be able to change this. Early trials suggest that digital home monitoring systems, such as using a smartphone app alongside simple devices like scales, blood pressure monitors and wearables could help spot problems sooner.
By completing a short survey, which should not take longer than 15 minutes to complete, you will be helping researchers understand more about whether these systems can improve care for people with cirrhosis.
