Clinical Trustee - Paediatric Hepatologist - British Liver Trust

We are fighting to improve liver health for everyone. Liver disease and liver cancer are a public health crisis, yet too often overlooked.

We raise awareness, provide vital information and support, campaign for earlier diagnosis and give a voice to those affected.

Having merged with the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation in 2024, we are here for everyone; from tiny babies to adults diagnosed with a liver condition.

We are preparing to launch an exciting new brand, Liver UK, in 2026, so this is a great time to join us and help shape the future of liver help.

About the role

As our Clinical Trustee you will provide governance and guidance to ensure the charity is delivering for people with liver disease and liver cancer.

Specifically, you will guide and oversee our strategic direction from a paediatric hepatology perspective, ensuring our leadership remains focussed on achieving our mission with impact.

Working closely with the charities senior management team and fellow Trustees you will actively contribute by offering advice, coaching and thought leadership to drive our work forward.

Time commitment

  • Attend four board meetings per year (usually held virtually)
  • Join relevant sub-committees offering advice and guidance specifically in paediatric hepatology
  • Attend events as necessary to raise awareness and vital funds

About you

To be considered for this role you will be a current, future thinking paediatric hepatologist who is passionate about raising awareness, helping improve early detection and enable better outcomes for children and adults with liver disease and liver cancer.
