New Liver Disease Patient Charter

Posted on: 2nd October 2019

Our new patient charter, which is supported and endorsed by a number of professional bodies, sets out the standard of care that all patients with a liver condition should expect.

The feedback that we’ve received from our recent patient survey, our helpline, support groups, online forum and roadshows highlights the variation of care across the UK. We, therefore, worked with a wide range of healthcare professionals, patient groups and lay reviewers to develop the charter.

I wasn’t sure what my diagnosis meant….. I now feel like I know the questions to ask.

We want patients and carers to be well informed about the care they should expect and be empowered to demand better care if needed. The charter provides a tool for patients to prompt discussion of their care with their medical team.

The charter is available for all patients, carers and healthcare professionals to view on our website and download. View here.
