Love Your Liver roadshow back for 2020

Posted on: 25th November 2019

While our mobile liver screener has a well-earned rest after completing its 2019 UK tour, our Love Your Liver team has been busy preparing for next year’s roadshow.

We’re thrilled to confirm that in 2020 we’ll be offering the public free liver screening and scans at the following locations:

Update 27th April 2020: Unfortunately we have to postpone our scheduled Love Your Liver roadshow visits to Scotland in April, Kent in May, the north east of England in June and Yorkshire and the Humber in July.  The British Liver Trust team will be putting together a number of alternative options for this event but confirmation of new planned dates will clearly depend on a range of external factors and we will be following the latest Government guidelines at all times. We will look forward to visiting these locations with the roadshow at a later date.

Love Your Liver screener

Members of the public attending the roadshow will be invited to complete our liver health screener (which is also online). The screener is a simple lifestyle questionnaire that flags up any risk factors to your liver health.

If the screener results show a potential risk to your liver health, then you may be offered a liver check with a FibroScan machine. This non-invasive, pain-free scan can give an indication of any liver damage and, depending on the result, you may be recommended to visit your GP to discuss further liver tests.

However, if you’re concerned in any way about your liver health, please don’t wait for the Love Your Liver roadshow. Speak to your pharmacist or doctor as soon as possible.

Please be aware that these events are run to raise awareness and are not diagnostic. We cannot offer a FibroScan check to people already diagnosed with a liver condition under the care of a healthcare professional, or patients who have received a liver transplant.

Keep in touch

We’ll announce further dates and locations around the UK over the coming months.  If you’d like to be the first to hear about them, sign up to our e-newsletter.

Thank you to all the local liver clinicians who support us at these events, and to all the people who have made donations – we couldn’t run the roadshow without you.

If you would like to help with a donation or company sponsorship to the campaign, please contact loveyourliver@britishlivertrust.org.uk.
