Free and confidential support service for people affected by contaminated blood

Posted on: 1st July 2026

The Infected Blood Psychological Service (IBPS) is offering free and confidential support to anyone living in England who has been infected with contaminated blood and their loved ones.

The service offers people the space to talk about their experiences and how they have been affected over the years, any emotional or practical pressures they are experiencing and what they may want now or in the future. It can also help with navigating challenges such as benefits, housing, health, employment or communicating with services.

Set up in response to the Infected Blood Enquiry, the service is run by clinicians who understand the issues surrounding contaminated blood.

People can refer themselves directly to the service or ask a professional to do it on their behalf.
